Can contraception ruin your chances of pregnancy in the future?

Can using the pill, the injection or the rod ruin a woman's chances of having a baby when she is older?

No, no, no.

There is no evidence to support this.

Opponents of contraception will tell you that it can, but there is nothing that supports this at all.

I work in a specialist fertility clinic and have seen a lot of fertility challenged patients and nowhere in any of it has the reason for their fertility problems been linked to the previous use of contraceptives.

Studies show no way. Miss use of a dosage says yes. And I say everyone is different. Take what you are given exactly the way your doctor says too, and you minimize any risks. I know people that were on the pill for 10 years and got pregnant as soon as they stopped taking it with no problem. I know people who were on the shot for a couple of years and went off a long time ago and still have no babies.

So you got to go with what it says in the pamphlet sitting on the coffee table in the waiting room don't ya?

well i had no problems and i have been on the pill and had the rod however i believe long term use of the injection can hinder pregnancy in the future

Nope, it may take a little longer once she has stopped taking the pill/Injection but it will not ruin a woman's chance of getting pregnant

it doesn't ruin your chances, you just have to stop taking the pill a while before your chances of getting pregnant are successful

Not when used properly.

no...absolutely no evidence to prove that...dont worry..

Nope. I was on the shot when I was younger ( 3 years ago ). Got pregnant when I was ready right away.

No. What propaganda have you been reading?
