Christian attitues towards contraception? |
right i need to research christian attitudes towards contraception. i need the views of christians for christians and the views of christians who are against it. any help would kindly be appreciated, thanks (: Im from a Roman Catholic Family. Am Christian -Catholic and am for contraception. As a christian i feel that i should only have the number of children that i can manage to support or rather look after comfortably. If i choose to have as many kids as life accords me then subject them to poverty or a harsh life then am going against my christian virtue of being a responsible parent. DEpends on which christian branch. Most Protestants have no problem with contraception. The Pope from the catholic church preaches against contraception, but there a more than a few catholics who use contraception. The pop actually wants catholics to have many kids more power base as more people in church. SOme catholics use rhythm method, ie timing of period for contraception, which the pope has no objection to. All in all it comes down in what YOU personally believe in. You don't have to follow ANY religions or their rules. Be safe and protect yourself by using the appropriate contraceptive recommended by your OBGYN doctor (like the pill, etc...). I'm Catholic and my religion says that using the pill goes against the churches rules. (Are they going to help raise and pay for all the babies I have, then?). HOWEVER, I am my OWN person and I do what is right for ME as a person, not what some "man-made" religion tells me to do. Please do what YOU believe in and do NOT be persuaded by christians and/or religions out there. All religions and christianity are man-made organizations and rules anyway, so there is not and never will be any proof what the right answers to anything should be. Only God knows, and with that said, has anyone been able to ask him in person directly? No. Do we have any hand-written books by Jesus himself? No. So, don't get hung up on religions or base your decision on what other people believe, think or tell you to do. It is your body and the decision is totally 100% up to you. The Roman Catholic teaching is that a husband and wife will only use the sex act for the purpose of conceiving a child . Use of a contraceptive means that the couple is not trying to conceive a child , therefore they are using the sex act for the purpose of lust . You do not have to agree with this just be aware of where the RC church is coming from . Well mostly no sex before marriage and if you do, they would want you to use contraception, because they think abortion is wrong. if you r unmarried stay unblemished by sex. if you r use your menstral cycle. about the pope wanting more kids,, it's a big lye. hope i helped. It depends entirely on the denomination some are for it, some are against it..> :D |
