What are your views on Plan B contraception?

Do you think it equates to abortion? Do you agree with the new law allowing 17 year old girls can purchase it without parental consent?

Hmmm...now I'm really confused. I thought Plan B was a pill. How does it work?

No it's not abortion. All it does is prevent implantation. There is no life without implantation.

I'm mixed on being able to have it at your disposal as it's nothing, but a super high dose of hormones and shouldn't be used on a constant basis...

I think it's ok if a 17 year old girl has an "oops" moment like once.. but not every weekend...

Plan B isn't a method of birth control and should only be used once or twice.

I took it once.. I was married and stable... but my husband has a habit of sleep sex... I knew I was close to ovulation and the possibility was tremendous....he does it so fast that I'm like just waking up as he's finishing... (sad, i know... literally like 12 seconds) so I wasn't taking my chance on his 12 second fiasco.... he went and got a vasectomy a few months later...

As it acts after conception, it's not a form of contraception -- it's an abortion pill, plain and simple.

A 17-year-old is a minor, and a minor can't even have a scraped knee taken care of by a doctor without parental consent. So why the bleep should "Plan B" be any different.

Of course, if it were up to me, "Plan B" wouldn't be allowed whether there was parental consent or not. That's because it's nothing less than an abortion agent, and I think abortion is murder.

We illegalize all other forms of murder -- so why not abortion?

.

I believe Plan B works by preventing the fertilized egg from implanting, (like an IUD). If this is so, then in reality it may be considered a type of abortion...perhaps not in legal terms. If you think of the life beginning at fertilization, then you would probably see it that way.

I will never understand the strange laws which allow minors to have some kinds of treatments, and not other, simpler kinds. You better believe that if that 17 year old has some major health problem related to taking that pill, it is her parents who will be responsible for paying her medical bills.

Technically, it is not an abortion. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, and pregnancy doesn't begin until implantation. Plan B may interfere with implantation, though, which results in the death of a human being, since human beings are created at fertilization.

"It is possible that Plan B庐 may also work by preventing fertilization of an egg (the uniting of sperm with the egg) or by preventing attachment (implantation) to the uterus (womb), which usually occurs beginning 7 days after release of an egg from the ovary."

Plan B is emergency contraception , backup plan. It can prevent a pregnancy upto 72 hours after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. But as know it is not a good idea. You should have to control your sex. I do not agree with the new law.

It's not always abortion. The person never really knows. It aborts any implantation that may have occurred.

Yes I think they should be able to get it. If they are not going through their parents most likely their parents are scary for some reason and it's good they can get their medical needs met still.

It's not pleasant from what I've heard, so it's not like people take it lightly.

I think it's stupid.

No, I don't think underage girls should get it without parental consent, as they're still MINORS. If not, then lower the adult age from 18 to 16. If they want to be so adult and do adult things, they can take on full adult responsibilities as well.

it's not really equivalent to abortion. abortion is terminating a pregnancy whereas plan b is something that can be used if necessary after unplanned sexual intercourse. yes i think 17 year olds should be able to get it without parental consent.

It's not an abortion pill, it can't terminate a pregnancy (Please read up on it). As far as 17 year olds who can purchase it well, if they had sex without their parents knowing who's to say they shouldn't take it.

Corporate Big Pharmaceutical companies need to be regulated a lot worse than GM does. They're addicting, killing, and destroying people for profits every day.

No, it does not equate to an abortion. It's basically a radical version of the pill or Nuvaring. And its their choice.

It's a scam.
