How and where do i get the contraception pill?

hey, im 16, and my bf and i want to try havin sex.. He thinks that i should go on the pill cept i dont wana talk to my parents about getting the pill.... i want to go c the doctor but i dont know how i should and wat i should ask about getting the contraceptive pill.. any ideas on what i could say.. and also do u need to have a medicare card..(health card) when going into doctors..? thnx much appreciated.. xxx

You can get a prescription to get the pill from your local GP and then you can just go to any chemist and get it there. Yes, you do need to have a medicare card. Your parents would probably have yours, so if you want to get if off them without being suss, fake an ear infection or something.
However, depending on where you live it varies how old you have to be to get the pill without parental consent, unfortunately. Where I live you have to be over 17 to get the pill without parental consent! I'm hoping where you are you can get it at 16.
Before going to the doctors it's best to do some research on the pill first so that you understand how it works and etc. It will show the doctor that you are mature, confident with your choice and know what you are getting into. Trust me, this helps a lot! The doctor will explain to you what makes the pill ineffective and ask you what sort you would like to go on (as in, how high you would want the hormone dosage to be). I recommend going on a pill that is a low dose as it prevents unpleasant side effects that a lot of generic pills can cause. The pill I am on is Yasmine, it does not give any side effects.
If you forget to ask the doctor anything else you need to know about taking the pill, the pill set comes with a booklet to guide you and information on all you need to know.

If worse comes to worse and you can't get it without consent and don't want to talk to your parents about going on the pill (I can understand that lol) wait until you turn 17. Just use condoms in the mean time and should the worst happen like it breaks, you can always get the morning after pill.

hi hun, when i first went on the pill i didn't want my parents to know either. i made myself an appointment and sat in the waiting room rehearsing what to say in my head lol. i said something like, "i've tried condoms and they dont suit me, could you see what pill would suit me?"
a friend of mine also told her doctor that she was allergic to latex and her doctor recommended the pill to her without her having to ask. dont be afraid of asking for the pill though, the doctor will see hundreds of patients that week and loads of them will ask for the pill, she probably wont even remember you by the end of the day!

also you can pop into a CHATS clinic or your local connections, that way you can pop in when you like instead of making a new appointment every time you run out.
