cipramil worked wonders for me speak to your GP and be put on anti depressants, they take a couple of weeks to start working, and maybe ask your GP to refer you to a counsellor to talk through your issues, trust me they really help

take a vacation, if you can, road trip alone or something, just to take your mind off the troubles and who knows, you might even come back as a better you, an un-depressed you. Just go away for a little to clear your head

i am on a pill called Valium and effexor xr and am a paraplegic and understand what your going through if you need to talk hit me up my email is open
good luck

I lost my dad two years ago and there are still sometimes when I get depressed and sad and just want to avoid the world. Especially around specific dates such as the aniversary of his death, his birthday and so on and so forth. The best thing to do is maybe get some help. I go for councelling when I feel it coming on. Putting everything on your boyfriend may push him away which is probably the last thing you want to do and even though you don't want to talk to your sister believe it or not she is going through the same thing as you and will probably understand you more then you know. (Unless she has a different dad in which case she might be like mine and not give a ****). I know they say it's support to get easier with time but that's not true cause as time goes on it's that much longer they aren't around anymore the only thing that happens is you learn to deal with it better. It's even harder when you're younger cause there are so many things they will miss. I hope you find peace with it all and find a way to deal. Just know you are not the only one out there.

You wouldn't be normal if such situations didn't depress you.

But to heal yourself try to get out and do interesting things preferably with other people. Try to help others ... get your mind off of yourself.

Be active, exercise, breath fresh air (if you can find any), get a hobby. Get a pet.... Pets can die too or even run away so think long and hard about that one.

Death is a real downer but keep the happy thoughts as best you can. Plant a plant in his/her name.

They would want you to be happy so work on it for them. Know that when your time comes you can and will be with them for as long as you desire it.

Blessings....
PS. Don't hang around the house on the computer or watching TV. Reading (non-sad) books works much more effectively to control depression.

Consider volunteer work of some sort.

I am sorry you feel as you do. It is all connected. Losing your dad is awful.

Think of it like this, your dad would be so upset if he thought he had died and upset you. He would want you to be brave and have a happy life.

Can you afford a little holiday. That would help. You could also go and see the doctor and talk to him in confidential matters and he will advise.

You won't feel like this forever. Maybe sad sometimes when you think of your dad. Try for his sake to feel better. Think of happy times. Cry when you want to.
