What do you do to get rid of your depression?


AND:
*your home alone
*you can't leave your house

try writing. it helps. speaking to someone helps most, though.

there is no real cure, but my second cousin lives alone and is also depressed. my mam has tried to get him to move back home or in with some friends but he can't because he has work commitments.
family really does help alot. my dad was 'diagnosed' with depression last year, he stayed out of work for about six months or more and he was put on Prozac Lily 2 everyday, over a few months even me, his (at the time) 15 yr old daughter could see a difference in him. like we really did spend alot of time together as a family and it was good for him. now over a year later he's way better but he's addicted to Prozac and if he doesn't get one a day he really is moody.
but seriously move in with family or friends and try talking to someone it really helps.

there are a lot of things that will help you deal with your depression. you need to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit.

exercise. it releases endorphins which make you happy. try doing yoga, it will allow you to meditate and bring you peace. it also has great health benefits for your body. or, if yoga is too new for you, try taking a walk outside. the beauty of nature will help you realize how great and amazing life is.

along with exercise, eat healthy. your body needs proper nutrition to help keep the chemicals in your body balanced.

surround yourself with people who love you. family and friends are awesome!

also, try to change your thinking. the only reason why you are depressed is because you allow yourself to be depressed. if you constantly tell yourself something your brain will believe it to be true. so, constantly remind yourself how great life is, show gratitude for the things that are currently in your life now. remember, there is always someone who is dealing with a far more difficult battle than you are. be strong.

try watching oprah. or visit her website. she is all about living your best life. there are great tips and stories of other peoples struggles that can help you with your own.

also, try reading a new earth. it is a great book that will teach you how to separate yourself from the ego.

only time will heal your depression, but don't sit around your house all day waiting to be cured. get out of the house and start living. i suffered from depression for over 2 years. but, with some positive affirmations and life changes, i bounced back. it didn't happen in a day, it was a process.

depression happens to people who can't adapt to change. remember, life is like a roller coaster, it has it's ups and downs, but the important thing is to enjoy the ride.

Try to find something that can occupy your mind for a while. Maybe find an online game, or read something that interests you.
You could also try writing about what's bringing you down. Sometimes when I try to write down why I'm feeling depressed, I find it's hard to actually come up with valid reasons. Which of course doesn't mean that I'm not depressed, or that "there's nothing wrong".
