I was just perscribed celexa 40 mg for anxiety and depression...?

Anyone else taking this with positive results...?
Thank you so much for sharing ur experiences...=)

Arrow M: Thankyou so much for sharing that info. and for answering my quest. It has given me great hope as I have the same conditions. =)

My wife has been on 40 mg of celexa for many years. It has greatly improved her depression, anxiety, mood and OCD.

I took it a long time ago with no problems. Being a writer, I felt it killed my creativity. They switched me to Lexapro, with some improvement. And now I'm on Cymbalta and feel creative enough to write.

The things to watch out for with these types of medication: sleepiness and moodiness. You have to give it about 2 weeks. If you are so tired, you're falling asleep during the day, you need to switch to something else. If your moodiness, anxiety, depression get worse, you need to switch to something else. Don't be afraid to call your doctor or therapist and keep them updated. Good luck! Hope you feel better soon.

I took Celexa for anxiety and depression, but found that Lexapro worked better. Lexapro is basically the isomer of Celexa, meaning that they isolated the stuff that works well in Celexa and got rid of the stuff that didn't, and marketed a new drug.

I also found that Zoloft helped.

Just as an aside, have you tried therapy? The theory of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is that our thoughts and behaviors cause our moods and feelings, and changing the former can change the latter.

Also, some books that worked for me are:
-The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook by Bourne
-Mind Over Mood by Greenberger and Padesky
-Panic Attacks Workbook by Carbonell

hi im on celexa, and it works for me very well, i can live my life without freaking out, i feel good about myself more confident, and its not addictive, like, zanax, but you will find your way if you feel better in a few weeks then dont change, your doctor prescribed one of the best antidepressants, antianxietys good luck

I have generalized anxiety disorder and for me Celexa made my anxiety 10x worse, I stopped taking it. I take Xanax for anxiety and it is very effective good luck.

That stuff is really strong.. I remembering having to switch to zoloft
