What medications do you recommend for OCD, anxiety problems, panic attacks, and depression? |
more so the first 3 than depression. many thanks more medications less advice please The SSRI group is best for depression and anxiety. They include Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Luvox, Paxil, and Zoloft. Non SSRI medications that are commonly used are Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, Amitriptyline, Effexor, and Trazodone. Sorry, what chemical combination that works good for one person won't work as good for another. There are many, many anti depressants and medications for anxiety and panic attacks that might help you. You have to try one and see if it works or not, if not you move on to something else until you find the perfect combination for your body. My boyfriend takes Effexor for anxiety and depression and it seems to help him, and he takes Ativan, used to take Xanax for those rare panic attacks. You need to find a good family doctor and see what he/she recommends just for you. And also look into counseling. Your problems may not all be related to a chemical imbalance and a "magic" pill may not be the answer to your problems. You might need years of therapy from a Psychiatrist or Psychologist. Best of luck! I'm not sure, but my opinion is that medications - in the long term - won't treat the cause of your problems, it's important that you start taking them to help you cope, but it's also important to make sure you don't become addicted to them and to actually cure the problems themselves. That's why I would recomend a combination of medication and seeing a psychologist who can reduce your dependency on medication and tackle your mental health issues. Paxil made me want to fight everyone and umm.. oddly made me suicidal for no apparent reason. It also left me feeling sick most of the time. I felt so weird on it that I asked my doctor to place me on something different. You sound just like me though you lack my Hypochondria and physical ailments. I went to my doctor 8 months ago with bad anxiety and depression. They prescribed me Efexor-xr.Its been very helpful,I had immediate response,my life got back on track definitely.Getting off it is the hard part.Im a bit confused at the moment..... For depression zoloft or prozac.... prozac is what i take for my ocd, anxiety, and depression. id really love to help Ive had those problems for years now,ask your doctor about trazodone. Celexa or laproxen. Im bipolar and suffer with anxiety attacks. I use Lexepro (sp?) and it has worked for me for 3 years. zoloft. Saved my life! i drink tea !!!(linden teA) |
