Does depression CAUSE a chemical imbalance in some people, or is it the result of it?

Does depression CAUSE a chemical imbalance in some people, or is it the result of it?

According to recent models of depression, it is both. It arises as a result of a chemical imbalance and causes others. Through the kynurenine metabolic path, it can even damage the brain, thus it is considered neurodegenerative.

Depression is the result of a chemical imbalance in somebody. The chemicals tip over, and that's when somebody's emotions and thoughts start to play tricks on them. This is why it becomes essential sometimes to take medication to put the balance right, but sometimes you can get through with therapy and hard work.

Which came first the chicken or the egg? It does not matter because the treatment is the same and the chemicals will return to normal with proper treatment. I don't think there is a definitive answer. It may work both ways.

It's the result of it. You can get Depression without any chemical imbalance however.

It's the Chemical Imbalance in the brain
that causes depression...

As far as i know its a chemical imbalance..
