To those who went through depression?

When you got over it, did anyone noticed you look better or what did people notice about you? What comments did you get?

Once my meds were correct, everyone said how much healthier I looked. I was overweight and lost 100lbs, and was too thin...then the meds 'helped' by having me gain weight. Also that my face 'glowed' again, and I just looked better.

It's been an off and on battle since I was 17 (I'm now 21). My depression was diagnosed as mild, but my doctor still tried to get me to take meds. I even brought the pills home. Thank God I never took them. I don't believe in relying on a substance, legal or not, to solve your emotional problems.

But it turns out that my problem wasn't something that could be fixed with medicine. It was something to do with my past.

Now I still battle with it off and on. I know why I'm depressed and I know it still cannot be fixed with medication. But I do have a wonderful support group (of two people, one in particular) who simply just sit and listen to me and comfort me. Their comfort is all I need and WAY better than what any drug can do.

For the most part I hide my depression from others.
No one has a clue how I truly feel.
I only tell my therapist and doctor how I feel.
Once in a while I will let a small piece of my feelings out around certain people. I will kind of joke light hearted to see how the person responds.
My mother has a tendency to get angry if I seem depressed.
I never get any comments about seeming better.

no one knew, i would be pretending all day, ate dinner had a shower and cried to sleep every night for about three months. i picked myself out of it, no one noticed not even my parents (i was 13).

There were only two person who noticed me going thru depression even though i had a smile on my face. And they reli helped me out alot.

After that, even though i still smile, but friends did say i look different.

still going through it. i dont show im depressed to people. im usually feeling awful when im alone and at home. no one knows. and no one needs to know.

Im still dealing with it. No one really notices unless im having an extremely bad day....
