Has any one been prescribed Budeprion xl for depression? |
my doctor put me on this drug for my depression but the possible side effects and the thought of a seizure is very scary. I know we all have different bodies and immune systems but if you can tell me how it made you feel or if it infact helped the depression.Thankx alot My doctor put me on Welbutrion xl a little over a year ago and it has helped quite a bit. I'm on the highest dose (450mg) daily, as it seems to be the most effective. Yes, the risk of seizure is a scary thought, but you must keep in mind that these are POSSIBLE side effects. Everyone is different. For example, I experience a slight tremor in my hands due to the Welbutrin and have lost a HUGE amount of weight (not that I'm complaining...lol!) Otherwise I've found that my depression is mostly kept at bay and I can focus better. My younger brother who is 23 and diagnosed with the same disorder as myself, was put on the same medication at a dose of 300mg daily. He experienced anxiety, paranoia, sleeplessness and agitation (but he wasn't depressed any more!) If he drank anything with caffeine in it he'd experience the side effects even worse. In addition, he gained 10 pounds. He decided to try a different med (under the supervision of his doctor of course!) Is this Wellbutrin XL (bupropion)? It is an extended release form of bupropion. Bupropion has very few side effects (most of them beneficial), and the risk of seizure is the same as with other antidepressants at doses lower than 450mg. |
