Isn't depression, in fact, a "shut-down" of physical self, and NOT mental illness? |
anxiety and depression co-exist, in my opinion. anxiety being a normal response to a stressful situation (i.e., negative interaction w/ others or temptation to sin, for some). depression then occurs, after high levels of anxiety, due to a depressed or exhausted "physical state", possibly because of depressive hormonal over-load and subsequent physical comphensation, through rest or slow-down/shut-down of the central nervous system and brain. thus depression, true or false? the human body reacts to the environment around it ,in a normal physiological response he faces fear or worry by anxiety reactions ,he faces saddness by depression ,it doesnt mean after anxiety u lose stores and u go into depression ,a normal body compensates and reacts normally ,the mental illness is different its sustainded periods (anxiety) or (depression) if alternating its maniac -depressive ,bipolar ,the normal body has control ,in these states the control is lost ,regulation happens within a state hard to understand or explain ,and no interaction with normal environmental effects cause them ,(anxiety with no fear stimulants ,depression for no obvious causes etc etc ) Have you ever experienced mental illness? Unless you have and have had to be hospitalized, don't make generalizations. All of what you describe happened to me 21 years ago and I am still on medication and will be forever. Did the stresses cause the mental illness? No, if it did, I would not have to take meds without fail until I die. If what you say is correct, I should have stopped taking the meds 20 years ago because it would only be a physical problem that could be healed or heal itself like a head cold. The physical shutdowns PRECIPITATE mental illness they do not cause it. not at all, your right that anxiety and depression co exist but not really in the way you suggest. As a sufferer of deppression that is not my experience. depression is a shut down of mental state which obviously in turn shuts down the physical then you have a breakdown. In my experience the anxiety comes in the recovery period, silly things like going to the shop, getting on the bus anything with people (for me at least) It sounds like you are just making up your own idea. I think it is better to read up on the state of the research, which shows abnormalities in the brain. Which the brain is also your physical self, yes? sounds like wishful thinking on your part. |
