How to cure insomnia and depression?

I'm 15 and everynight I have problems falling asleep. I only fall asleep really really late yet the next day I have to wake up early for school causing me to feel severely tired the next day and unable to pay attention in class. How do I cure insomnia?

I also suspect I'm suffering from depression. I always feel tired, negative thoughts just keep coming into my mind and I've even thought of commiting suicide. My best friend acts as if she dislikes me and I have nobody to turn to.. Help me?

you must tell your parents about this, as you may need the help of a health professional.
while you're on to it (gathering some guts perhaps), do the following tips: have a balanced diet, get some exercise and try not to stress your self. i hope you get enough sleep with these, and don't forget to tell your parents.

you need to develop some sleep hygiene. You need to get a night time routine and stick to it. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. avoid anything with caffeine after late afternoon. Do not eat/drink a couple hours before going to sleep. Avoid watching tv an hour or before going to bed. If you can't fall asleep within 20 mins get up and do something like read...and try to go to sleep in 20-30 mins. Exercise this helps insomnia and depression.
Depression and suicidal thoughts are actually more common than you would think for people in your age range. If you don't think you can talk to your parents about it, talk to your guidence counsler and they will help you. Talking over things with someone who can help you problem solve and show you a different prospective is more helpful then you may realize.
From one girl to another girls are crazy at your age. One day they are your friend, the next they are not for no apparent reason. Find some new activities and meet some new friends.

problems with insomnia can arise due to a lot of reasons, it can include depression, anxiety, colds, and by what you take in. your daily routine can also impair sleep. to beat insomnia, stay away from caffeinated products and stimulants for they can disturb your sleep. try to establish a routine, avoid problem solving when in bed, try to clear your mind, do some sleep ritual that can make you go to sleep. before you go to sleep take a warm bath for it can help you feel better. considering these sleep aid habits you can overcome insomnia as well as your depression. Depression is just a matter of how you feel and do in your everyday life, so if you know how to move on in a single problem you have then i know you can also move on with your depression. Think positive, don't let those kind of feelings eat you. visit http://www.sleepsogood.com for more tips to have a good night sleep.

For insomnia you may just need to change your sleeping habits. This includes eating before you go to bed, what time you go to bed, and doing something to relax you. Don't think so much during sleep! Just relax your eyes and the muscles in your forehead.

Depression is a tricky one...But it can be overcome and a lot of the time--without medication. What is the root of your depression. Determine the areas of your life that are making you unhappy and then say to yourself "It could be worse." It helps to know that whatever is weighing you down is nothing compared to what other people are going through.

Don't sleep late every nite.. Environment factor or stress are also example of sleep disorders..[lead to insomnia]... if u are active in games especially sports, have plenty of rest as it is the best way to replenish ur energy.. make sure ur room must have good airflow for sleeping-comfort... A comfort place to sleep will reduce stress..

Depression: Think of the positive and not the negative.. Calm yourself... For a while, leave aside all thoughts about your job, school, friends, etc.... Let your brain be empty and take a deep breath.. You can try yoga... one of the best arts towards mind-calming.. Consult a psychatrist for better prescriptions..

You need medication.
Depression is a vicious cycle that's hard to break.
I also suffered from non sleep, depression & suicidal tendences.
I took welbutine ( not sure of the spelling there) but I was cronicly depressed and it took about 2 weeks but it worked wonders!
Good luck!!

Talk to your family doctor immediately.

be positive... and learn how to relax! one more thing... try to adjust... or yet try to tire your self before going to bed. But for sure... drink a lot of beer will definitely make u down!

One leads to the other.
It is a vicious circle.
Go see a doctor, he can help you better diagnose and prescribe.

Go see a doctor or a therapist.

go to the doctor...

Hello, I was actually suffering the same things as you are feeling right now.

and right now, I just keep myself busy and the only way for you to sleep is to tire yourself (not that it's really a good idea, but it worked for me and my depression)

- shopping for clothes (just the thought makes me excited all the time)
- fashion sketching and designing (colors made my day)
- collecting toys (they make me giddy and childlike and also happy)
- i organize my time
- i always plan ahead of exciting stuffs for me to do (i am somewhat adventurous)

and the best thing that keeps me alive and moving is my volunteer work. I love animals and I work on rescue centers and animal shelters.. they make me happy and busy (having work that I love more than school makes me study hard).. and also, I am currently committed to some organizations like WWF, Red Cross, and other charities. I make sure that some of these charities have something to do with my course as to make myself feel more useful.

joining in orgs make me feel more important plus i get to meet a lot of friends and for every new friend that I have, I get to have a new life (sounds metaphorically cheap but it is actually true)

good luck and things don't turn out fine, go get a counselor. :) <-- I really don't feel like it is that necessary to consult one. just by having your positive and real friends around will make you feel fine. if you think your friends hate you, make new other friends and learn to make yourself be independent from them if they don't make you a better person.

Suicide, I believe will not do you any good. You're still young and there's still a good life waiting for you ahead. so I suggest, plan things, enjoy them and be good :)]

edit: you could also listen to happy music.. no matter how much of a non-music person you are, your mood will still change by your music. I am not really a music person.. I am more of as silence person and I realized that the more silent the room is, the more I get crazy (it's true)

you see, i really want to help you overcome this depression and anxiety of yours, as I felt what you've been feeling right now. I really wish you the best and hopefully my tips could help you (if you think they won't work, at least try).. try something different in your life mmkay :) be happy and goodluck for the last time I am telling you hehe

HOW TO CURE INSOMNIA AND DEPRESSIONS
WITHOUT DRUGS
Body chemistry has a dramatic affect on the production of seratonin (the happy mood chemical) and melatonin (the sleep chemical). I found that when I understood the process in which seratonin and melatonin are produced, I was able to make corrections.

Things You鈥檒l Need:
Alkalizing foods and supplements
Detoxifying foods and supplements
Alkalized/ionized water
Step1Hydrate with microclustered water. This is alkalized and ionized and has a much greater ability to hydrate than other water. Drink 40 ml per day per kg of bodyweight (60kg = 2.4 litres, 80 kg = 3.2 litres). This water will provide more oxygen to the brain and permeate cells better than other types of water.
Step2Detoxify from heavy metals and other pollutants with chelating agents such as zeolite, fresh coriander (and vitamin C if pH is greater than 6.4). Heavy metals, especially mercury, block the conversion of protein to seratonin and melatonin.
Step3Alkalize with 80-100% alkaline foods such as raw vegetables, pumpkin seeds, herbs such as parsley & coriander, antibacterial, antiviral & antifungal products such as olive leaf extract and virgin coconut oil. Take liquid and/or powdered zeolite 2-3 times daily. Add bicarbonates if pH is too acidic (sodium, potassium and magnesium). Minerals and vitamins are not absorbed if pH is less than 5.8. Also heavy metals and other neurotoxic pollutants are not chelated if the body is acidic.
Step4Exercise at least 30 minutes daily (eg brisk walking). Moderate exercise helps to alkalize and detoxify.
Step5Minimize or eliminate acidic drinks such as alcohol, caffeine drinks, soda drinks.
Step6Listen to self awareness audios while exercising. Read and listen to awareness books and audios before going to sleep. Meditate if that works for you. Read books on alkalizing and monitoring body chemistry

Hi there, I felt exactly the same when I was 15, I am now 23.
Please talk to someone that is what is needed. I couldnt sleep for days and days for over a period of 2 years. Even though I had to wak up to go to school. Though one night when I was out, I got a boyfriend who turned out to be very caring and I was able to talk to him about my trobles and what worried me.
Many a time I had thought that my life was not worth living, but I my boyfirend and couseller who I turned to and trusted told me otherwise.
Please seek a counseller, these are provided free of charge via a doctor's surgery. Or if you want I can give you my sisters number who is a counseller.
Remember there is more to life than what you think, God loves you and remember you are wonderfully made. What changed my life around was reading the bible. It shows that God is there for you no matter what, when you are down and when you are low.
If you put your trust in the lord, and believe that he is your saviour your life will be turned around. A weight will be lifted of your shoulders.
Please let me know how you fell......
