You will not be fired from your job because you got a B on your Science Final.

You will not be paid less because you got a B on your Science Final.

You do not have to put the fact that you got a B on your Science Final on your resume.

A guy will not refuse to date you because you got a B on your Science Final.

You will not have your head cut off and paraded around by a bunch of militant Islamic terrorist because you got a B on your Science Final.

You will not be forced to ride in the back of the bus, use a different bathroom or different drinking fountain because you got a B on your Science Final.

You will still be able to have children even though you got a B on your Science Final.

You were not sitting in a tent, in the desert, in Iraq while you were taking your Science Final.

Your children, grandchildren and future husband never have to know you got B on your Science Final.

Umm.... need I think up some more?

Okay, getting a B sucks when you expected a better grade or knew you could do better. Like you, I hate being told something is good when I know it could have been better.

But consider this, a year from now you will barely remember the grade, five years from now, it won't matter at all, and twenty-five years from now you will be telling your own son or daughter that a B is not worth getting depressed over.

The real measure of your success is not acing every final, but how you come back from the one's you don't ace. : )

If this is all you have to be depressed about, I'd say you're doing pretty good in life.

Its great to hear that you have a high expectation of yourself, but there is really little you can do to change the end result. All schools, employers look at on the transcript is the end result. Not what you got on a test. So a B won't do too much damage to your GPA.

The damage is done, so move on and study harder next year. If you're in college, you can always retake the course next semester and shoot for a better end grade. If you're in high school, there will be plenty of other classes to balance out the B.

It's just letters on a piece of paper. It doesn't matter what it says. It's not an absolute measurement of ur intelligence.

If u do believe that a grade is that significant and u get depressed over a B, then it shows that u r not that intelligent to know that the semester average, not the exam grade, is the most important.

I just think that it's the teachers fault for not teaching the material well enough for me to excel and do good on the test.

This year, my senior year in high school, I didn't care and I ennded up with a 4.75 (weighted with AP exams) and ended up graduating top 10 of 250 students. So, I stopped letting school get to me and I relaxed and I did better than ever.

Relax and do what u can.

I can relate. Though it has been a while since I went to school, I would have gone home and cried if I got a B on anything. It's pressure we put on ourselves to succeed, maybe a little perfectionism thrown in.

Try not to be too hard on yourself. I know, easier said than done (and I was very hard on myself). Just know that you are not alone and it does get easier. After you fail a few times (I flunked out of university the first time around), you get better at handling it.

um....honey,
i dont care what you say, thats a good grade.
****, i was lucky to get c's on my finals...so its just a B, its not the end of the world. so quit tryin to be the best at everything. nobodys perfect. and if your tryin to be your just waisting your time.

In five or ten years, it won't matter at all.

Yes, it is still possible. Just make sure your anger or frustrations don't come across in the cover letter of your application. Your MCAT scores will be very important.

if you prepared, did your best...then you received the grade you accomplished for that test.....
many never even get a passing grade in science...this is a very difficult subject to master..a B is a good grade...

I really do want to tell you that it is a good grade, because it is. It means you're above average. Anyway, just try and get over it. It's one final. You'll do better next year.

reality check
you passed !
if you did your best then you have nothing to be depressed about
if you didn't , do better next time , remember how crap you feel today and use that to spur yourself on

Well, let's see, the last time I got a B and fell into depression I did.... Hmm, wait...I don't think there was a time like that. Get over it.

Use your anger and frustration to fuel your need for study. Use the pain to insure it doesn't happen again.
