I need help, I have depression and I don't have money or insurance what should I do? |
I live in michigan and we are having trouble finding and keeping a job please I'm begging for help I don't like living this way. Thanks for help hopefully it would help me to get on my feet. Try getting some exercise it can help. I dont' know how things are in Michigan, but here in Kansas (or more specifically Wichita) we have a community run income based mental health clinic. They charge you by income (or not charge you if you are unemployed)...they offer psychiatrists, therapist, meds, and emergency counciling. And they have programs to help pay for meds if you can't afford them...or they give you samples and apply for assitance from the pharmacitical companies. Check out family services in your city. See if there is a mental health clinic that has a sliding scare. Look around for meetings people with depression are having. Sometimes the mental health clinics know about that. Those people could give you ideas about where to go where it is low cost. there are some natural pills called "SAM-e" { they are a mood enhancer, they are sold in the health food stores or supermarket or drug store in the vitamins section, normally in a box. I replaced my antidepressants with these and I took 200mg the first and second day, then increase to 400mg the 3. the 4th day increased to 800mg and continued with the 800mg in the morning everyday. This will kick in the 3rd or 4th day. do not take later than a.m. . it will keep you up and won't sleep. It works very well for me. Also, pick up on the way to there, the 3 mega fatty acids fish oil vitamins. take 1 aday, helps stimulate and nourish the brain. Also very important to pray with your heart anytime and anywhere. no need to go anywhere special for it or any formal way of praying. It is only between you and God. Ask for mercy and that he opens up your spiritual eyes and spiritual ears. Read your bible even though you don't understand. It is God speaking directly to you. Ask for understanding and if it is his will it will be done at the appropriate time. Look for a local government family services agency. Many of them are funded through grants or levies and are free to residents of that particular city / county. If you are, or get to be, suicidal, please contact a help line immediately. Insurance or not, hosptals will give you basic health care, including mental health issues. PHONE the emergency room or police department's non-emergency number, and ask for the phone number of the free mental health facility closest to you. Nearly every city in every state has at least one of these, but they are not easily found in phone books. Believe me, I know this to be a fact, just call for the number. Nearest Community Mental Health Center...call tomorrow and make an appointment. Next, call your local state employment agency (Here it's called WORK FORCE). You register and they will tell you the procedure for employment opportunities. It's easier to get a job if you have one...so take any opportunity you get! Best of luck!!!! kjl Depending on where in michigan you live there should be a free clinic that can help you. I know because I live near wyandotte, downriver and we have one over here. There are places you just have to find them. Try applying for help at your local fia. At the least they can direct you in the right direction. Just remember that there is help out there and you are doing the right thing. if you can come up with enough money for a doctor visit, you can get quite a few prescriptions from wal-mart's generic drug program - 4 bucks/month! i have no insurance and my anxiety meds cost me 4 bucks/month, and i visit doctor every three months (85 bucks). I would go to the free clinic and tell them you need mental help. You may have to wait a long time to see someone, and they will probably only refer you, but at least you'll likely be given some good low/no cost options for mental health care. first, always remember, that this will pass, and you will get through it, i moved from saginaw because of the economy. i live in austin and ther is oportunity everywhere. if you move hear to austin there isso mcuh and tis the greatest city to live in My recommended source may be is not the best suitable one for the question, however it should be quite useful to get the ideal answer.here you go. |
