What do you do when you suffer from major depression, but you can't tell anyone? |
About 10 days ago, I found out some really bad news (something that will cahange next year forever, in a bad way). Since than I 've been crying everyday, I can't concentrate in anything that I'm doing, I constantly think about this person that I'm about to loose and never see again and I just can't get through the day. I really don't know what to do...and I can't tell anyone no matter what. If people haven't noticed already they will start to soon and the only way through it is by seeking help. It's always good to talk to someone you don't know and maybe someone who is trained to help you properly. If you don't it may get worse to the point where you have no energy to do anything about it and the deeper you go the harder it is to get out of or at least cope with the situation. Take care x You only had this news 10 days ago - it will get easier but it might take a while. something i do when i have a problem i cant tell anyone about, is, i write my feelings down on paper. write your feelings down as if you were writing a letter to someone. just keep writing. i have filled 1000's of notebooks with my thoughts until i ran out of words to express my sorrow. read back what you wrote. alot of times when reading back your words, you will think of something else you forgot to write about. so start the letter over. once youve gotten all your emotions out, take a match and burn the letter. by doing this, you set your hurt feelings free. i know it sounds corny but it works. even oprah winfrey does this. i was writting my feelings down for years but it wasnt until i heard oprah say she did the same thing only she burned the pages afterward, did i start burning my pages too. it is a very liberating experience. Don't make mistake of tackling depression alone You have to talk to someone, even if you do it anonymously. Sadness like this should not be battled alone. There are many Hotlines you can call. Some hospitals have counsellors onsite that can speak to anyone in crisis. its pretty hard to suffer from major depression without people noticing! Phone the samaritans. it may help to talk to someone in confidence just go out, take a walk around town, and look at all the homeless people, then on the way back home you'll feel better about yourself You obviously need someone to talk to. How about a clergy person or a therapist. if your depressed and it affects yer already then seek for a counselor who can help you:) its hard to talk about ur deprression try talkin to a real close friend r talk to ur doctor see a counciller Talk to someone who is uninvolved or u can trust...prayers r with u I strongly recommend that you seek professional help. If you can't afford it, call a major university near you, ask for the psychology or the psychiatry department, explain your situation, and they will hook you up with advanced students who are supevised by a professor, for a very low fee. |
