How can I get depression under control without meds?? |
How can I get depression under control without meds?? An exercise program is good, even if just going for long walks. Helping others is good too. It is amazing how one feels better making someone else's life less harsh. Doing a good deed for a family member, neighbor or friend, or volunteering for a service organization, all take your mind off your own problems, and prove to yourself you can make a positive difference in this world. Regular practice makes for regular improvement!! Good luck!! Massing yourself with just playing loud music, talking to friends only diverts you from what troubles you. Sometimes you cant. But try thinking about the positives in life and REALLY think about them w/NO buts! Everyone has positives in their lives if they get past the sad/bad parts. Look at what you have, who loves you (and dont say no one cuz there's always SOMEONE if it be parents, friends etc) and just because your not currently involved w/someone also doesnt mean no one loves you! Also, get out, do things, go out w/friends to take you mind off things, go hang w/family or a pet :), just get your a** out of the house! Good luck! this is a difficult question. i honestly believe that you can't - but i'm sure there is people that disagree with me. i tried for many years to do this without medication and did'nt get my symptoms under control until i started taking medication. i had to go through a few different kinds until i found the right one for me. talking to someone can get your depression under control without meds, a counselour or therapist- mainly because they can't prescribe medication so they are good people to talk to if you dont want medication Try listening to loud music, hanging out with friends, and avoiding stress full situations. You really just have to chear yourself up. Try doing new things and getting your mind off of sad stuff. |
