What alternate therapies can i use to treat depression?

Excercise every day for atleast 45 minutes. Depression comes from dewlling on things that are present in everyones lives. Depressed people just let these things control their lives, and they look at it as a disease, something that cannot be controlled. The truth is, it can be controlled and it is not something you have to live with. The best way to beat it is to not let it get you. when you feel down and out, GET OUT! Go running, walk around the park, join a climbing gym. Work out hard and change yourself for the better. Set goals and work hard to meet them. The best way to change is to start now. Not tomorrow, not after this happens. Just do it. Do soemthing fun and crazy!

hi there my husband suffers from depression and mental health illness psychosis.my husband takes his anti depression tablets(trazodone)and also has a fortnightly injection of risperodone to alleviate these problems. But also to help him with these illnesses he takes up hobbies to keep himself busy first he went to the gym but then he got ill again so he started carving walking sticks and drawing and occassional bike riding,theraputic relaxing hobbies that help him so much and currently he hasnt had a bad bout of depression for 5 months or a psychotic episode for almost a year.also eating brazil nuts helps with depression.Hoe this help

Depends on the severity and cause. But a few things that helped me were:
- Smile :) (naturally releases endorphin's)
- Avoid negative stimulants (heavy or sad music, dark or enclosed spaces)
- Drink strong coffee (helps to smile)
- Eat some good quality chocolate. (again with the endorphin's)

Appreciate that which is good :)

cognitive therapy - in esance every thing we do is a choice and our responsibility example i have tough day at work and get angry and come home and yell at the kids. the way i view my day = My perception, I get angry = my choice, I yell at the kids=my responsibility.

Yoga and breathing exercise!
