What do you take for anxiety and depression, does it help, and what are the side affects? |
I want to try something now that I'm not breastfeeding but I don't know what. I don't like paxil or prozac due to side affects I am on cipralex, and the side effects where for only a couple of weeks and now its just benefits benefits, they are a great med. I know of 2 pretty good ones, i have been on both. I tried Celexa and it's been hell since the first dose. I haven't touched it in over a month, but I'm still dealing with the "discontinuation symptoms" (withdrawals). I took Paxil a few years ago and it made me want to kill myself. When I got off of it, I felt like I had mono or a bad flu. I'm going to risk bad reactions from people and just tell you to avoid meds unless you honestly, truly, absolutely cannot function without them or can't benefit from therapy or something else. My only motivation is keeping someone else from going through the same crap. Effexor XR. I've been on it for about four years; and it actually does help. Side effects are weight loss, sexual dysfunction, insomnia, and drowsiness. I was lucky to only experience these in the beginning. Comming off this med is another ball game; there are very dangerous relapse and withdrawl effects. Don't take when pregnant or trying to get pregnant because of birth defects. I am on Lexapro. It works!! It can make you gain weight and unfortunately it did for me. Most drugs are not to be taken if breastfeeding, but I don't know all of them. You really should call a pharmacist or check with your doctor. There must be something for you to be able to take. I m now taking prozac to promote my moods and Clonotril to relex my nerves, it better to consult doctor before taking it. Dont try yourself please. st johns wort.. the 3% hypericum is the active ingrediant. no side affects that i know of.. you can ny it at GNC less then $10 |
