How do i know if its depression and not post-partum? |
my baby is about 9mths now and yet i find myself being depressed more everyday that passes. i read books that says post-partum usually last about 3mths but mine has never seem to have gone away. i know its different for every women. i dont have the money to get professional help and im really scared to get on antidepressants. ive tried explaining to my dr. how ive been feeling but she keeps assuring me with time that it'll just go away. what should i do? "Post-partum" isn't a disease, it's a TYPE of depression. For some women, it can last years. (As you probably know, pregnancy unleashes all kinds of funky hormones on the body, and it's easy to see how that might set off an imbalance in the brain.) seems to me that you are having slight depression as long as u can bare it , if you feel that you are getting worth , u should see a doctor and never wait tell it gets worsen. Usually depression can easily treated if you started the treatment early . antidepressant really help a lot as long as you need it , only the doctor can evaluate your case . |
