What kind of doctor do you go to that could diagnose you with depression/bipolar?

like which doctor would prosribe medicine for you.

People usually start off with a psychologist and they get to know you & determine if you need meds or not. If so, they refer you to a psychiatrist. You'll need to go to both, psychologists listen, psychaitrists prescribe

If you are in the UK your General Practicioner can point you to the correct type of doctor to help with your problem. You can also get advice on the UK government's NHS website - see below

yup, psychologist and psychiatrist.but if you want to heal faster it's better for you to see psychiatrist because they'll give you the medicine that'll heal bipolar.

Yours seems to be on the field of psychotherapy .Therefore, you should seek psychotherapists;they can be found everywhere in hospitals and clinics. It's there field when it comes to mental or psychological problems.

A psychologist can help you. Most of them will then send you to a psychiatrist for meds. Lots of Family Practice docs have training in depression and can script drugs as well.

Psychiatrist usually or GP. Both could prescribe antidepressants or mood stabilisers. Psychologist could also possibly help.
