If my depression affects me to the point where I can no longer take care of myself, what's going to happen?

My depression is so bad that I can't even handle my daily responsibilities. It's such a struggle to get out of bed to even go to the bathroom. I just have no energy whatsoever. Fatigued all the time, stressed out, worrying a lot. Many panic attacks. Fear that I'm going insane.

I see a therapist & take meds.

This is a normal part of the illness. Depression can take over your entire life. It even eventually robs people of their will to live. You are not going insane. Your depression is worsening. Tell your doctors/therapists. If they can not help you, find new ones. Keep looking until you find someone or some medication that can help you recover. As long as your medical professionals are trying and listening to you, let them help you. Once they stop listening and trying to help you, find someone new.

This is definitely something you should see your doctor about. Your primary care physician is a good place to start if you don't feel comfortable seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist. He or she will probably do some blood tests to make sure that there's nothing medically wrong; sometimes anemia or low thyroid can mimick depression. Your doctor may start you on medication -- drugs of the SSRI class (e.g. Prozac) are common ones to begin with -- or may refer you for specialized therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Good luck! The most important thing to realize is that you're not crazy, and help is out there.

Dear Question Queen,
I can relate to your situation very much. My depression isn't quite as bad as yours, but I can relate to all of your feelings.
What you need to do is contact your county mental health department and tell them very directly what you're going through and that you need help.
And if it's to the point where you feel you might hurt yourself, call 911, okay??
And I'll be praying for you, Sweetie.
God Bless,

I understand..... I do I do.... When you wake up you are tired... almost sad you did wake up, right... So much to do so little time to do it.... at the end of the day what did you do???? Nothing.... Not one thing..... Yep... You need people who care about you to give you words of encouragement you need things to look forward to... You need an animal that needs you.... You may not know it but you need to be wanted from some one or something....

Be blessed

Everyone has the fear of going insane, but very rarely a person becomes one.

You have to go through the pain of making yourself do whatever needs to be done in the house. It is the only way.

Never give up, never, even if that means suffering for a while.

oh.... you better see a therapist-
you may benefit from medication
try to make yourself do a little more each day-
get some fresh air, open the windows, let the light in, take up a hobby, go for walks...
you need to make yourself do things that get your endorphins going...
good luck. we all have tough times- you are not alone, but, you must make yourself do what is healthy for your body & mind-

My friend, time will heal you, don't worry, we have all learnt to deal with our problems, its all within yourself. Trust in Jesus for nothing is impossible with him. Take one day at a time, thats what I do and I am fine. Everyone has problems and eventually we learn to deal with them, worrying and getting panicky has not helped anyone. TAKE STEPS TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS and before you know it you will be out of them :)

freeze....dont do anything drastic!
you are sick...
call the doctor very quick...
you are special, everyone is...you are special to us, we love you..
hang on there...let problems strengthen you...dont let your depression get in to you..be the master of your ownself!
hugs en kisses

You need to see a doctor. That is not healthy. They can prescribe you with an antidepressant or antianxiety medication. Try eating healthier and taking over the counter sleep aids.

you need professional help
and it would benefit you to talk to anybody close to you about all of these feelings

you should really seek some help. ask a friend to take you to see a psychiatrist.

you should see a proffesional. get help!

GO GET LAYED!

is life worth being sad over?
