How to tell mum i think i have depression?

i would like to know how to tell my mum i think i have a mental illness, and that i want to see a doctor.. Anything to do

In order to kill the depression, you have to trust on your mom! you need to talk to a psychiatrist, just like I did, she gave me PROZAC, and I feel so much better, believe me, you need to talk to your mom.

Just tell her that you don't feel like yourself, that you've been down, lacking in energy, etc. You would like to see a doctor.

There are many things that can cause your feelings beside a mental illness. You might be anemic, it could be dietary, you may not be getting enough exercise, etc. If you are using any substances, such as alcohol, that can cause these problems too. Alcohol is a CNS depressant.

I'd be up front and honest and say I don't feel well, and would like to see a doctor. Your primary care physician is the one to start with, and they will rule out any physical issues, and then you will likely see a therapist or psychiatrist.

There are natural aids to depression as well. Frankinsence is very good for depression and anxiety. Just use the incense, which contains a psychoactive chemical that can help. Lots of sunshine, a good diet and sleep are also important. Omega 3 fatty acids, as found in fish work wonders.

Talk to your doctor about your diet, any substances you are using, etc. It may not be as bad of an illness as you are thinking at the moment.

First I would like to tell you that I think you are brave for recognizing that something is wrong and deciding to do something about it.

Okay, about telling your Mum....write down what you want to say first. Try to think of a way to say everything that you have written in about 2-3 sentences. It is tough for other to understand things when we talk too much.

For example, you can say, "I am sure I have a problem and I need your help solving it. I am depressed and would like to see a counselor or a therapist before it gets worse. As my Mum, you are the person I need to help me find the right treatment".

See, its easy.

It took me way too long to say something to my mother and I ended up depressed for a while. Also, by not saying something in a simple way, I used to just babble to her and she did not take me seriously because I was not making a whole lot of sense.

Best of luck to you. Depression is as common as the flu and can be taken care of by doctors. It is not something you should ignore or it can get worse.

if you know your mum will be ok, and 100% willing to help and wont ask to many questions then just come out and tell her.

but if you think shell need more then just your word, then do some reaserch in whats going on with you and also research the possible treatments you could get. it will show her that your taking this very seriously and will be less inclined to think its just a phase that will go away naturaly.

eiither way, if you feel it would be to emotional or difficult in any way to tell her face to face then you can write everythin down in a letter, sit her down somewhere and give it to her, and sit there until shes done reading so youll be there to discuss it afterwords.....now all thats left to say is good luck and i hope you get better :)

tell your mom that you think you have a mental illness and would like to see a doctor to make sure it's that or just anxiety. let your mom know that you want to see your doctor for a professional's opinion only and if he/she says you do have depression take the help offered.

sit her down and tell her that u have been feeling depressed. ur feeling sad, mad or however ur exactly feeling. give her some examples of why u think u are depressed and what has happened to make u feel this way. i don't know for sure if ur depressed but just tell her u want to see a psychiatrist to get a professional opinion on how ur feeling and if ur really depressed or not. if u want to talk more about it i'm online and my screename is TheBTPYoda. aim or yahoo messenger. good luck.

i may not have come accross this with my mom, but whenever i need to say something to her and cant just go right out and say that, i say something referring to someone at my school, then go from there, or, work my magic and get her to bring it up and then go from there, good luck.

Well you need to know whats going on are you sad? are you mad? are you from one extreme to the other? If you are not happy with your self there could be something wrong. You should just let her know how you are feeling.

justr sit her down and tell her you think something is wrong and explain to her how you feel and ask her for help and i am sure she will do what is right .good luck

Write Her A Letter Or Email.

just tell her
