I am pretty sure I have depression, but I dont know how to tell my parents. How should I do that?

I dont want to freak them out, but I need help. My family isnt the most understanding group of people in the world.

I also need to know how to show them that it isnt just moodyness. Sometimes im up, and sometimes im down. They wont think that it is depression because I can be super happy sometimes.

You should tell them calmly, and definately do it when they are in a happy mood:)
Just remember, you have friends and family who care about you, and they will always love you, be happy about the surroundings you have around you!!
Have fun with life, it is way too short, travel, hang out with friends, and have a great summer!!
i haope everything works out for you, and just remember there are always people out there to help you!!!
I hope that helps!!

Just make them promise you that they will keep open minds and will trust your judgment, and that you think it would be prudent to see a doctor just to be sure.

If they want to mock you or think that you have no idea what you're talking about, tell them to prove it by having you go see a professional. If they refuse to, then they must be either stubborn or terrible parents.

If this approach didn't work, then I would see the guidance counselor or someone similar at school and have a talk with them. Odds are they could set you up with someone who was a professional in that field. Then again I am from Canada where we have more universal health care and such, so I'm not sure how it works if you're American, but still, this would be the next best approach.

i believe depression is only in your own mind. every person has times that make them sad, or irritated, or any one of a thousand different feelings. but, the biggest question for you to answer is this, can you see the day really soon when things will be better for you? if you know that this is just a slow period of your life, and you know things will get better, just relax and trust yourself to wait it out. the anti-depession drugs can help you, but the side effects can be dangerous. if you feel that you can not wait out this slow period, start out the conversation with your parents by telling them that you love them, and that you trust them to help you with a very difficult decision.

If I were you, next time i was in an irritable state, I'd say "I feel so irritated and upset. My moods are up and down all the time. I feel like I need to speak to a doctor, I don't think it's healthy."
If you don't want to wait until an up or down, tell them exactly how you feel inside...and tell them you want to go to a doctor to be safe about it.

write a note and hand it to them. In the note you can explain it to them without them saying anything. Also you can explain everything you are feeling.
I think a note would work best.

Tell them you want to see your doctor. Even if they do not agree you are depressed, I would talk to the doctor. They are the only ones able to diagnose your condition.

go direct to them 4 solution, tell them, coz they are the solution.
