What would a doctor do for my anxiety/depression problem? |
I think my anxiety/depression is the problem with my chest pain and getting startled easy. I worry about a lot of such, such as having to work and how stuff can get paid. What will be done. Sometimes I just want to take a drive to see my best friend an hour away. I think that could help me. A Doctor would talk to you about the problem you have then they will more then likely send you to some counselling. Then they would prescribe you some anti-depressant tablets to help you deal with the problem. First of all, you must be examined by your primary care physician to rule out physical problems, especially the chest pain. (I get startled easily too!). It depends on how bad your anxiety/ depression problem is. If you are having problems getting out of bed, eating too much or too little, and avoiding life, then the doctor might prescribe medication along with therapy. Medication alone isn't usually prescribed. Talking with a professional not only allows you to get some ideas on how to handle the stress and worry, but they can assist your doctor in monitoring your medication. In your case, you're right, maybe just relaxing or talking to a friend would help. But if you think that a doctor could help, go see a doctor. There are certain medications that could help you with this, and if that's not enough or you don't want medicine, you could always have therapy. Doctor will talk to you about mental health problem (Anxiety and Depression) and introduce you to have anti depression drugs, the common side effect is sedation. Well they are going to put you on medication. |
