Can we get a compasionate reassignment because I have been diagnosed with Major Depression?

To be completely honest I overdosed on pills a few months back. My husband then took me to the ER the next morning, oviously it didn't work, but then I spoke with a military phycologist who informed me that all he could do was perscribe me medication but he could not talk to me cause I'm a spouse and not a Service Member. A few months later I finially got myself to go to out on the economy and speak with a doctor when come to find out all he did was perscribe pill and he told me I had to find a theripst. When duh!? So here I am in Germany and even though I'm sure with a ton of phone call I could find another German doctor to speak with but I just can't seem to do that. I know it sounds crazy that I can go on here and tell my story but I can make a few more phone calls but I just can't. I hate it here. I hate what I have become here. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have heard about this compasionate reassigment and am just wondering is it available for my family?

You may or may not meet criteria, you and your husband need to discuss your concerns with the unit commander. I assume you are Army, the pertinent regulation is AR 600-9.

You will also need an opinion from a military doctor to the effect that you are incapable of getting proper care there, but would be able to get definitive care once you are at a different facility.

In the meantime, I would suggest you contact the local military Chaplain as well. They can help you with managing the depression, and can help you communicate your concerns to the unit commander .

The other thing to consider is the exceptional family member program [EFMP]. If you qualify for this, the Army is required to only move your husband to where definitive medical care is available.

i think you can good luck

I guess you are talking USA Army, so such a re-assignment is a consideration according to Thee website below.

Though you should take some positive action personally before you push for such a relocation. Consider your spouse and the rest of the family and consider the consequences on them. Eg career promotion etc.
Surely as a spouse Overseas with your serving partner you should be afforded medical support? It is very strange to me because I know both Australian and British Defence forces look after their Service personnel's civilian dependants, whilst on overseas postings.
