Can too high of a dosage of SSRIs cause depression to return?

I was prescribed an antidepressant by my doctor about a month and a half ago. She started me on 20mg per day, and after about 3 weeks I noticed an improvement in my mood. At my follow-up appointment a week ago, my doctor upped the dosage of the medication. In the past week, I've felt the jitters and nervousness that I experienced the first couple of weeks upon first starting the medication, and I've been feeling depressed again, almost as bad as I felt before I started taking the medicine at all. Can having too much in my system cause a "relapse" of the depression?

Anytime your dose changes you can expect to have those symptoms. It's really hard on your brain to drug it up, so naturally there's a "backlash".
It's not the depression coming back, it's a side effect of the drug.

SSRIs ruined my life. They make you feel good at first then later make you feel more horrible than you ever have in your life. This is the same as with any drug, feel good at first then it wrecks you. What happens to most people as they feel worse and worse is that the dosage goes up and the drugs they give you get stronger and stronger. I was warned about SSRIs from friends who had their lives messed up by dependancy on them and I didn't listen. I thought for sure a doctor knew better than someone who had been there! Silly me.

I got on them because I had a bad breakup and I felt very depressed. Trust in God and stay off drugs. Trust me, I felt tons better after only three days off the pills. A year and a half of my life down the drain on the pills, all my finances went in the tank. I couldn't work on the pills. Within a week of being off I was back to work after a year and a half off. That doctor diagnosed me with every disorder he could shove in my face. The reality he admitted on my last visit was that the main reason he concluded I was so messed up was because of my strong faith in God.

Trust in God. He will give you SSRIs of the spirit, not in pill form but in a form that comes from his soul.
