Am I suffering from depression....? |
I have this habit of cutting myself to help deal with problems, and I can't seem to stop, seeing as it helps deal with the pain. My sister is starting to get worried, and wants me to get counseling, but I don't even know whats wrong with me in the first place. I have a feeling I may be sufering from depression but I'm not sure. I'm not a very happy person to be begin with, but I often fake my happiness so people would stop bugging me. I often feel like ****, and that I'm just bothering people by even existing. Even now my friends can't make me happy, and the more I'm alone the more I tend to feel pain and cry and cut myself. Does anyone know what's wrong with me? I'm afraid of going to the doctors or something, cause if my parents knew then they'd probably make a big deal out of it and i don't want that to happen. A few strategies you can do: honey, this is a big deal. you need help learning to cope with these issues. You need to tell your parents and you need to talk ro a therapist, people cut themselves to relieve internal pain they are having, you need to talk to a therapist, there is medication out there to help depression and help you be your old self again and you are worth that!! just because u cut doesnt mean ur depressed. depression usually causes self injury but there are other things that can as well This is something serious. You need to let your parents know. If you were to committ suicide, that would be a blow to your parents. They would not only feel the pain of your death, but would be left wondering what led you to do it, did they miss the signs and might feel guilty for not being able to prevent it or get you some help. Please talk to them and seek help. Suicide is not the answer. That surpasses the depression level!! Damn kid SMILE Yes, I think it is depression and your sister is right, you should see a counselor. Alot of people go to therapy without knowing what they have. Thats what the counselor is for. They are the ones who are supposed to diagnose you. And as for your parents, dont worry about what they think. Its good that you know you have a problem and its good that you want help. I think your parents will understand and just want you to get better. And speaking from experience you dont necessarily have to tell them everything, although it helps, you could just say 'hey mom, dad, Ive been feeling really bad lately and I think I want to talk to someone about it.' And depending on your age you may not even need their permission. But thats if your over 18. Anyways, good luck sweetie, I hope everything works out!! |
