I have depression and my girlfriend is upset with me?

I have depression and I know it, the thing is my family doesn't know and I'm fifteen, don't go saying how I can't know about this sort of stuff because I'm so young, I've probably gone through more then some adults have. Anyway back on track, because of the stuff i've gone through I have depression and my girlfriend is getting fed up with me being sad all the time and constantly doubting myself. I can't help it... but would it be a good idea to lock everything away from her and well put on a happy face for her...I love her to death and just want her to be happy, i mean she seems to have depression too so she should know that I can't just magic this away...wish I could but I can't, I try and be the best I can be to her because well I love her and never complain even if all her drama does get to me...
I have no idea how to handle anything anymore... it seems like the only option is jumping in front of a car or something... I wont do that, of course. Can someone please help me?

Tell your "friend" or spouse if they ever got injured accidentally or diagnosed with a disease (like pneumea, cancer or diabetes) that please they just pretent around you that they're just fine....</sarcasm off>

If you feel depressed and know that you are, you have a great insight and your age is even more grounds to applaud you! It is very common for teenagers to feel depressed due to hormonal changes in their body. If it last too long, you should get some medical treatment. A friend or spouse who is not supportive in such a time, I don't know what to say...they are quite ignorant and have the misconception that mental health issues are fake and not real diseases (since they can be easily faked). If you have the time and energy to educate them and ask them for their support (which you desperatly need now) and not their hostility, then try it. Get some books and/or broshure and have them read it.

If they refuse or still have the same attitude, like I said earlier, would you want to have that person around you after you were hit by a car and broke both of your legs, and they demanded that you pretent that you're able to walk? It's the same kind of situation.

I know exactly how you feel with hiding the depression from your family.
you are such a sweet guy, and I appreciate how you put others in front of yourself.
but you really do have to ask yourself, who is your main priority, you or her.
when you figure that out you'll know the answer to what you have to do.

Ask your girlfriend to help you through this hard time in your life. She should be helping you if she really TRULY cares about you,but that's my opinion.I'm not much older than you and I have depression as well.Have you tried meds and therapy? It's not as bad as they sound

I know how you feel. My ex husband and I are trying to work things out. However he knows I am bipolar and that I struggle with heavy loads of depression. He tries to be understanding but he told me to just pretend to be happy around him even if it was a front. I told him ok. So that is what I try to do. It is hard. I can't wait to see my therapist. I hope that you can see one too. That may help you a lot. I wish you the best.

well the problem is if you have depression you never know where it will lead so i'm glad your reaching out. you deserve your feelings and emotions to be respected first of all and second if she can't or doesn't know how to do that than you have to remember to make sure you make your self happy before you can make someone else happy. depression is very serious and you can never make eachother happy if your not happy to begin with. take care of yourself! i watched my mother commit suicide and i though i would never get rid of my sadness. write her a letter and ask for her to try understand and at least respect how you feel. have you seen a doctor. God can be the best medicine you know. He was for me! He saved my life and now I know how to deal. I look up when I"m down. I hope you can do that too. people don't respect what they don't understand. maybe you could research it together and overcome it. good luck
