Postnatal depression and disability support pension?

i have postnatal depression, which i have had after each of my 4 children. It is worse this time then the other time and i cant cope at all. My eldest has just turned 5 and my youngest is 4mths old, so i do have my hands full. I do work 8-16hrs aweek because i have to, to support my children. My husband is doing an apprenticeship and on a low wage However my doctor has told me i can't work more then 8hrs a fortnight due to my depression, but i cant afford not to work.

She suggested the disability support pension but i am not sure if postnatal depression is classed as a disability with centrelink. I hate being so depressed some days i would rather be dead then deal with life. Some days i cant not doing anything i cant get the kids lunch or anything like someone has turned a switch off in my brain. I have to call my husband home from work to help me. I get very little support only alittle bit for my son as he has a disability.

also my 4mth old has a allergy to the protein in cow's milk so we have had major problems with that, and i just cant cope with it all. Most times when i have to work i have to force myself out the door, i hate going shopping as i cant deal with people, i find it to hard to socialized. Does anyone know where i can get help and if centrelink does class postnatal depression as a disability.

You really need support, you are trying to cope with so much alone, do you have family who can help you, take turns coming over to your home and help you with your children?
Do you have disibilty services in the phone book, they could offer you some services to help you and your son., your Doctor could offer you some contacts to get help.

Get your baby on Soy milk

Don't you have a Human Resources Person at your job? I would speak with that person so you can have the information. I am from the US so we have a different way to deal with this and it is covered by insurance and so is covered by disability by many states here.

I would also suggest if you child has issues with Cow's milk? Don't you feed them formula? you can get formula with Goat's milk or with Soy milk as well.

You can get on disability for depression. Find a free consultant. Generally, they don't get paid unless you do and they do all the paperwork and appeals for you.
