Depression and Voices Question...?

I know I ask alot of questions about depression but this is a serious subject for me. Currently I am suffering from depression and schizophrenia...I am hearing voices (very loud and forceful) and I am seeing shadow people (who are scaring me because I'm alone...and have no way of going anywhere because I dont' have a car and it's dark out)...I've tried calling the clinic where I get help but I got nothing from them. I was told that a pdoc was put on my case and would call me later today (that was earlier) but never called. I am scared of tonight..."THEY" are telling me to do things I am scared I might end up doing. My questions is should I call crisis and see what they can do for me or should I just wait til tomorrow and then talk with my nurse as I have to go to the clinic anyway for group. Please any advice would be great but no jokes or sarcasim(sp?)...thanks

I want to thank all you who have responded. Thank you.

Hello, I would suggest calling the crisis line if you feel very strongly to do what the voices are telling you which I assume are not positive things...If you feel this urge very strongly and if youa re so scared..I would definitely call the crisis line. Or do you have a friend you can call who can come by and help you feel alittle more secure? If the urge is not as intense then I would jsut try to rest for the night and then see your nurse at group tiome tomorrow. But, fromw hat it sounds like you are saying, I would call the crisis line or have a friend or loved one over to help you if possible. I hope this helps and youa re feeling better very soon!

If you think that you will harm yourself or someone else in response to what the voices tell you to do then I would say you should call crisis and see what they say. otherwise, I would say see if you can calm yourself with some music, some deep breathing techniques (breathe in deeply through your nose and hold the breath for a few seconds then out through your mouth,) and try to rest. Hopefully, you can get through the night without the voices telling you to do too many things.

Hope things go okay.

i never understood the hearing of voices, because if you are hearing the voice, and you know its just a voice, cant you choose not to listen to the voice?if you are really scared you may do something call the hospital and tell them you are thinking of suicide. they will admit you to the hospital where maybe you can get the help you need.

Get to the ER, right now. Go. Your safety is important, and you are having a mental crisis. They MUST treat you if you show up at the ER. They can't put it off. They can't ignore you. You WILL be treated if you show up.

Please feel better, and know that you can email me any time. We all need someone to talk to.

i would call the crisis number. when in doubt, call. i also don't think you should be worried about how many questions you are asking. this is a public service and you are free to use it to help yourself as you need to.
