Solution to depression = weed?? |
does smoking weed or other drug good for solving depression? weed does not kill you so it should be okay, even tho it is illegal nonono thats not right I'm sure a lot of people won't like this answer but keep in mind each person's situation is different. I frequently suffered from depression most of my life, even as a child. When I was a teenager, I smoked a lot of weed on a regular basis. As I look back, the depression was far less frequent in those years that I smoked. After I got married and had children, my husband and I quit smoking it. And sure enough, the depression and anxiety were a constant, to the point my husband demanded I go to the Dr. I went, was prescribed anti-depressants, and was 'magically cured. Except for the part that the pills totally kill your libido. This did NOT fly with my husband! He suggested we go back to smoking due to the fact that he never noticed I had a problem then. I thought it was a wonderful idea. So I stopped the meds, we resumed smoking(not like fiends, just a little each day)and life is back to normal. Weed is not an effective treatment for depression. The best drugs for treating depression are those classed as SSRIs (e.g., prozac), SNRI's (e.g., Effexor, Serzone, Cymbalta), MAOIs (e.g., Nardil), tricyclics (e.g., Elavil, anafranil), and atypical anti-depressants (e.g., Wellbutrin). Marijuana is probly the most tested drug in history and while it does cure depression it does offer a short term effect against it. I would rather use it for my depression than any so called cures the medical community offers. As for any other drugs be very aware of the dangers and side effects. Specifically other 'street drugs' which will most assuredly cause a greater amount of depression in the long run. actually, before it became illigal, weed was being tested for depression. there are some people that still use it medically for that. Maraujna can cause psychosis and it has even been linked with causing schitzophrenia in Pychology Today magazine. There are plenty of legal medications to use for depression. If SSRI's don't work then try an MAOI, SNRI or Welbutron or a combination of these. I know some of the names seem strange, but they are all drugs that will not destroy your health, memory or sanity like maraujna. God NO!! Masks symptoms, doesn't resolve them. Other drugs are temporary and can seriously mess up natural reward pathways creating a much bigger life long depression problem. NEVER TURN TO DRUGS AS AN ANSWER!!! |
