Self injury/self harm is a coping methord, usually for depression

It's depression but it takes on a different twist with some pretty serious issues that need to be dealt with. a psychiatrist can talk and do meds. Don't go to a regular doc. for this. It doesn't mean you are nuts just need help with something you can't do on your own.

I can be, but it can have other causes.

If you are thinking of harming yourself - either by suicide or by 'cutting' - they are different - please 1) seek competent professional help and 2) find caring, listening people - friends, help lines etc.

Yeah I believe so, so if you are harming yourself go see a doctor so he can give you medication. It's better than having a ton of scars.

Yes, and if it's you who is doing the self-injuring, please speak to your doctor or someone you trust.
