I'm a vietnam vet and i think i'm sinking into a deep depression. what can i do?

The first step is recognizing your depression and seeking help - which you have done already. That is a huge step, many people don't recognize depression and don't want to talk about it.

Try to find someone to talk to that understands what you are going through. There are many support groups for depression, especially in large centres. You may even be able to find more resources online, such as a veterans support forum. There are many great books about depression and surviving depression as well.

Good luck. If it continues definitely talk to a professional like your doctor or a therapist. They may recommend medication if the depression continues.

I wish i could help you so much more. Please look back at all the people you have helped so far and all the much more youcould do. Im sure so many people care about you and don't want to see you unhappy. Stay around friends and try and think a bit more positively. Avoid particular things that cause you to feel down. Listening to happier music can help. Try and think of the things that make you happy and have done in the past. I know it's not easy but giving up so much worse.
Good luck.
