If you suffer from depression and your therapist wants to put u in hospital is it free?

If you suffer from depression and your therapist wants to put u in hospital is it free?

In the UK its free at the point of need, so no, you will not pay a bill for either the hospital stay or treatment.

No it's not free. It actually cost tons of money. I was hospitalized for severe depression for one week and took outpatient therapy for 3 more. The outpatient therapy was every day from 8 a.m to 3 p.m. I had insurance and they pay for everything (thank god). It was extremely beneficial, I learned so much during the inpatient stay. If you are severely depressed and are desperately looking for an exit this is the way to go. Attack those depression issues head on. Good luck and God bless.

THIS DEPENDS on whether you are on public or private health,If you are a private patient then yes at some stage there will be a bill to pay. I f you are in a public scheme then of course all cost are met.I would say, and my opinion is not professional that if you are aware that you need help, but not necessarily hospitalisation that this is not really the way to go a very good and close friend of mine did a one month voluntary stay in such an hospital and left even more confused than than when she entered. You have to have faith in your doctor , but "you"are the person to decide what you need.once again I would reiterate that you are the one who knows how you feel, and expense should not really be the criteria.

I'm assuming you are in the UK, as this is Yahoo! Answers UK & Ireland, and yes it is free.

In the US, you'll pay something. It depends on whether you are on Medicare/Medicaid or how good your insurance is. In other words, it can get expensive. But if it's your life, then it's worth it.

You don't say what country you are in hun....in the UK yes if they want to admit you it is free...outside the UK I should very much imagine you would have to meet the costs or maybe part of the costs?

No, it's not free. Even an involuntary hospitalization costs a ton of money!

I'm in the US, by the way. Not sure how Europe is.

If u are in the u.k then your doctor (GP) has to refer you - so go and see him or her... and if they refer you then it is free.

Assuming you are in the UK it is completely free of charge.
