How do you know if you are going in to a depression?

my dad just left for iraq a month ago, and my mother doesnt trust my brother and she trash talks about him all the time i dont see my brother because he is in the marines... i cant sleep at night if i do i have the scaryest dreams..

That sucks. you must be miserable. I don't know if this will help, but you can try it.
You and your dad should write letters, and send pictures. I have a friend whose mom went away and every day in class she would write her letters, and it really made her feel alot better, and you can actually say what your feeling because no one but your dad will read the letters. And, it will probably mean more than you know to your dad that you write to him, because you care about him :)
