I read a question regarding wanting to be alone and depression.?


I find that I need a certain amount of alone time to refocus and get thing done. I have things to learn for class. I have lines to learn for a play. I have so much time away from work. People always think there's something wrong if you say no to a get together. I am happier when I do what I need to do for myself before I go out with others. Too many friends used to depress me because I felt so social I was neglecting my own needs.

I think you've got a terrific handle on the situation. It's called "finding the right balance" for you. You know when you're not in balance because you get depressed. Don't worry about what other people think. It sounds like you know what works best for you.

Wanting to be alone is not a sign of depression. You are obviously a very focused person who likes to prioritise. There is nothing wrong with that. If going on a get together means you are unable to get other things done you will be stressed and that will upset you. Do what you want, you know your needs best.

I was actually happier before people 'shoved' themselves into my life. Sadness, power, greed, etc the list goes on as what humans have placed in front of me.

I'd say wanting to be alone in this crazy world is perfectly normal even for a week (vacationing as some people do probably why).

You're not depressed - You're just focusing and doing things for yourself! Last time I checked - there was nothing wrong with that! You'll go far in life - but do break once in a while for some fun!
