What's the best drug to calm anger and depression?

What's the best drug to calm anger and depression?

Lexapro and Seroquel staightened me out.
Seriously. Life is so much better now. Lexipro 10mg, Seroquel 25 mg. Both once at night.

You're welcome, I hope you feel better soon, no matter what the dr puts you on. But believe me, Lexapro and Seroquel ( both taken at night) has truly given me my life back, in just a few weeks, I felt brand new. 5 weeks now, and wowwww.. I hope you feel as good as I do, soon. Take care. Report Abuse

As suggested by other posters, it's best to speak to your psychologist or doctor before thinking about taking any form of drug.

Drugs should be the last thing on your mind as there are a variety of other treatment options such as cognitive behavioural therapy.

As someone else suggested, St John's Worts work well, however it's been shown that they're only really effective against mild to moderate forms of depression. If you're suffering from a more severe form of clinical depression then I'd recommend looking into behavioural therapy.

Once good, avoid drugs if you can. If you do take them, look at them as only a temporary thing to help you adopt a more positive outlook towards life. Once that has been achieved, try and get off them as soon as possible.

Different medication effects different ppl differently. This holds especially true for psych meds. It also depends on the specifics of your problems and those of the ppl you are asking. For example, one person said Lexapro and Seroquel worked great. I'm sure Seroquel worked great on anxiety. It is the most sedating current generation antipsychotic. It's often prescribed for bipolar but almost never for anger.

Go see your doctor, or a psychiatrist who specializes in mood disorders.

It's always better if you can resolve your stress with stress management rather than drugs, medication should always be the last resort. If you feel that you can put yourself through a therapeutic regime, i.e meditation, using relaxation techniques, using relaxation music, yoga etc, then you should. Alternatively you could try St Johns Wort which has proven to be as affective as any anti-depressant.

When you are prescribed meds. Your doctor will take a lot of things into consideration. Like your age, your weight and how bad your situation is. There are many meds out there for these problems. Every med effects everyone differently. That's including side effects. You kind of just have to see what ones work best for you. Always listen to your doctor and never up your dose or stop taking them without letting your doctor know. If you need to stop or change a med they will wean you off of them slowly.

Take care and don't give up!

If you feel you NEED medication talk to your doctor to consider all medical and natural supports for depression. Usually once you feel you need medication it is time to get support from your doctor.
