How do you shake the feeling of lonelyness & depression off?


lately ive been really lonely & depressed & i dont know why really. I mean i dont like feeling this way but i dont know how to keep my mind off of it. any suggestions?

It's not always easy to deal with, and I kinda feel the same way right now, but life goes up and down, I recommend just going out one night and relaxing, even see a movie by yourself, walk through a mall, it's not the funnest, and yes it's kinda weird being by your self, but it gives you some time to think about things and get out of the house. Also, just go talk to someone, doesn't have to be about how your feeling necessarily, but talk to someone, even a stranger, make a friend, it's tough, but you can do it! :-)

Is it because something has 'triggered' it?

( if something has caused it you have to deal with the feelings about what caused it first! )

Or has it been building up for a while due to spending too much time alone with no one to talk to and no outlet and socialising???

Do you feel frustrated because you WANT to socialize more but don't know how to go about getting out there and interacting more with people?

Its not healthy being on your own too much....and if its making you feel unhappy then that is a GOOD thing because it means you're ready to get out there more!

So - you just have to solve the problem if it is a practical one even though it feels emotional

Once you start mixing with other people and widening your social circle you should start to feel much better and less lonely!

Try Meetup.com they organize social events in your area with people who have the same interests as you and who want to get out there more and meet people too!!

If you know what's causing it, one way is to face your fears and what's bugging you by confronting it. But it's generally something you can just shrug off.
