What is the difference between depression and Bi-polar? |
What is the difference between depression and Bi-polar? Ok, I can tell you this. I am diagnosed bipolar. We experiance bolth depression and manic states. There are actualy diffrent classifications of bipolar, and stages. Bipolar I - Mania and Major Depression An over simplified explanation would be that a depressed person tends to feel down most the time. well, depression is when you're depressed all the time... and bi-polar is when you're sad one minute, then the next you're happy and excited, and then the next you're mad and cussing at everyone you see. in other words, it's when you're emotions change very quickly and a lot. depression is when you feel extremely upset all the time for a great period of time...even if you dont know why your upset or why you get so upset. bi-polar is more ups and downs, and with bi-polar the moods can change at the drop of a dime without warning or reasoning Depression is a condition in which the person experiences low mood. Bipolar disorder is what used to be called manic depressive disorder in which the person has huge mood swings, fluctuating between extreme highs and extreme lows. Bipolar includes hypomania (subthresshold mania) at minimum. That's more energy and needing less sleep than normal, disinhibition, hypersexuality, poor decision making... at least some of a number of characteristics that are beyond ordinary behavior or "being happy." Depression Bipolar causes ups and downs. Don't ask us to comment on current issues. We will probably be against them all....... |
