Is it common to go through periods of depression for no reason? |
It happens to me every now and again. I was wondering if it's common for teenagers to go through periods of angst. But, it's not stuff that would make you do anything extreme. (BTW I haven't had anyone die, etc. all the time I'm happy as a clam except for scarce moments) I have NO stress what so ever. Schools out so no random papers to write and no stress Lots of people get episodes of depression quite regularly. There are always reasons for it even if one is not aware of them. If it doesn't last longer than a week and doesn't happen every month I would say it is normal to go through that as a teenager. It is a stressful time. It is stressful just to be that age even if you don't have schoolwork or anything to worry about. If it last longer or keeps happening frequently than you should talk to a school counselor, your parents, or a doctor about it just to keep it from becoming a serious problem. If you often bury stress and anger and think its gone or you are controlling it by locking it away in the back of your mind -you are mistaken! As long as it happens now and then..that is perfectly normal especially at your age (I am assuming that you are quite young). I mean we all cannot be happy all the time. However if you notice that your periods of anxiety (you say depression) are getting longer every time....or you start wishing that youdo not want to live anymore...or that you are a loser..by way of (you cannot get a boy interested in you..(.the most common teen anxiety..or something similiar)...which commences to INTRUDE in your lifestyle..then my friend..you had better seek professional assistance quick smart. yes it is.....depression and anxiety both are very normal.... Drink chamomile tea before, during and after menstruation to prevent pain, strain, cramps, bloating, gas and discomfort. sometimes it's common for teenagers, but you should see a doctor. sometimes it's a hormonal problem, and you don't even know it. Yes it is normal for everyone to be a little down now and then but if it lasts more than a few days and doesn,t subside, I advise you talk to someone. are these depression bouts at least 2 weeks before your period? High anxiety I've had randomly, but never depression Sure......Depression is a chemical imbalance in your brain. It can be treated if you feel that ou need it to be. welcome to my world! |
