What is a good anit depression med?

I have to change my depression med from Pristiq with I have been on 2 weeks cause my medicade want pay for it. anyone know of sometihing good to use that medacide will pay or that is on the wal mart 4$ list?

Try some of the older drugs that are just as effective. Zoloft, Effexor, Paxil, Prozac - there's a million. Google "anti-depressive drugs" and you'll get the whole list. You don't want the MAOI's, tho. Food restrictions to the max. I'm taking Effexor (not CR) right now and it's working just fine. But a lot of the older SSRI's are available in generic now, save you money. Why would your doc put you on something that Medicaid didn't cover anyway? You can get a list from them, too, showing the drugs they cover. The just tell your doctor the way it is. Fancy new drugs are cool, but you can't afford them.2 weeks isn't enough time to tell if a drug works anyway.
Get Wal Mart's list while you're at it. Ask the pharmacist which drugs Medicaid covers. He'll know.

Stand up and fight for yourself! In mental health, no one will help you but you, so get used to it. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
