How do i get screened for depression?

I'm about 99% sure i'm depressed, but I don't know who to go to. Family doctor? therapist? I'm not sure what to do, can someone help me?

Family doctor can do a basic screening and refer you to a psychologist or therapist.

I would suggest a therapist, because there's more of a focus on therapy and working on possible root causes of the depression. They could also refer you to a psychiatrist if they thought medication would be beneficial to you.
Therapists aren't always covered by medical insurance unfortunately, although most cities have lots of low-cost sliding-scale options.
