What can I do to rid myself of depression and improve my mood?


I was recently rejected for a scholarship in an interview. I have been depressed and not quite myself ever since. Can anyone give an effective way for me to get rid of my depression and have a better mood? (No answers involving drugs, alcohol or relationships please) Thanks!

Exercise, healthy diet, fun activities. And during the down time, think about why you didnt get the scholarship and what else you canapply for.

Pretty standard answers really.. exercise, councilling.. smile more..

This is coming from someone who has spent the last 6 years on prozac.. so i'm probably not the best help,.

Maybe you could go talk to a counselor... sometimes talking to someone who's not directly involved in the situation is the best advice for you.

By realising that they didn't accept you for the scholarship because you are just not good enough.

i always work out when im depressed

or play a game or sport to distract myself and get my mind off of whatever had me depressed.

go out and travel! relax! forget your worries!

just get outta the house...chill with friends, see a movie, etc....staying in the house usually just makes things worse.
