How do I overcome depression |
I just moved to a small town in louisiana from NJ. I don't know anyone. It's truly hell. All week long its extremly boring and on the weekends the bar scene is mostly guys with very few girls. The girls that are in there don't have 1 or 2 kids but 5 or 6. It's right outside of an army base. It's hopeless. I don't fish or hunt or any of that crap. I drink alcohol everyday, I don't like it but it seems to be my only salvation. I am not motivated to do anything but pray for a quick death. I have already been diagnosed with depression and PTSD. I take wellbutrin but it's effects don't seem to work anymore. My psych perscribed me celexa but I dont want to take it because of the known side effects. What can I do to make this complete hell hole tolerable? www.essortment.com/all/howtoovercome_rfy... You need to get out of the house everyday. Even in you are to go down the road and back...everyday go somewhere! Depression is a horrible thing. Always take your medication everyday! If you are not happy with your current prescription, talk to your doctor about something that may work out better. Drinking is a depressant. Find a way to change your life. Get exercise and find a hobby...even a good book. Your life will not change overnight, it will take baby steps. Be patient and things will get better. Good luck. Get a job (and Im not trying to offend you) oh oh cheer on the braves! First, I would change the way you are viewing your situation. Does having 5-6 kids automatically mean you're a terrible person to hang out with? Even though there are only a few women, are you making the most out of it? I've found that I only really need one in my life. You can find pleasure in anything if you allow yourself to. The critical mind can never enjoy anything, you can be a critic or you can be entertained, the choice is yours. |
