Is depression a long life decease ? You mean disease? The answer is that it can be. It depends on the individual and his/her ability to effectively find and use the various treatments available. For example, most people don't know that the best treatment for depression is the combination therapy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( aka CBT) and an anti-depressant. At best people will say talk therapy plus medication, but that really is not accurate. Research has shown over and over again that not all talk therapies are created equal, and CBT is superior to all other therapies and medication alone. Or if it's situational depression, it should subside when you get over what made you depressed in the first place. |
