When in the hospital for depression what are you allowed to bring? |
When in the hospital for depression what are you allowed to bring? Depends on the hospital. Most allow street clothes, books, writing paper, etc. They will take anything away that you can hurt yourself with, including shoe laces, long pieces of string, staples, razors, belts, jewelry, etc. Call the hospital as most have a list of things that they don't allow. It always depends on the hospital. Basically though, you are not allowed to take anything you could harm yourself or others with. No sharp objects (razors, knives, pencil sharpeners), a lot of places will not let you have shoelaces and belts also. Usually you can't take any medications in with you too, and if you do it has to be lodged at the desk, and you won't be allowed a mobile phone in many places. Pajamas or gown, robe with no belt or ties, slippers, hair brush, comb, toothbrush, and something to read. No make-up, lotion, mouthwash, nail polish, or anything that might be ingested. |
