How do you know if what you feel is depression or just something else?


How do you know if what you feel is depression or just something else?

Knowing what the differance is is very difficult. Sometimes, even professionals have a hard time doing that. You have to kind of decide by yourself. Are you feeling much different than you normally are? Like you are numb, and can't stand the world? Is everything overwhelming to you? Those are some huge signs or depression. If you feel that and more, or you feel that and you hear voices or somthing of that sort, then you should deffinatly go see a professional about that.

Depression usually has several of these symptoms and lasts more than 2 weeks:

* Sadness or hopelessness.
* Loss of interest in or pleasure from most daily activities.
* Losing or gaining weight because of changes in appetite.
* Sleeping too much or not enough.
* Feeling restless and unable to sit still, or feeling that moving takes a great effort.
* Feeling tired all the time.
* Feeling unworthy or guilty without an obvious reason.
* Having problems concentrating, remembering, or making decisions.
* Thinking often about death or suicide.

serious depression incapacitates you and lasts longer than a few days of the blues.
