Is This Depression?..?

I think I am showing signs of depression. I can't smile when I'm at home, I cry randomly, and I wish to run away. My dad is abusive, and my mother is at her breaking point. I don't know what to do.

i have been diagnosed last year with severe depression and anxiety, which my doctor thinks i have probably developed around early teens. i also have been abused, physically and mentally by my mother, who did this to me and my sister until we finished high school.
i know what you are dealing with, and i know you feel hopeless and worthless.it does sound like depression, and you need a counsler to help you, like i am. i am in therapy and taking paxil and am coming to terms with what my mom did to me.
tell your mom to get out of the house and leave him,he has an illness, and won't stop, and it could be bad if you stay.
go to a shelter,go to a relative or friends house, just get out. have your mom file a police report and get it documented that he is abusive.
i would get out and try to get help from a counsler. i will pray for you.

Those are definite signs of depression, You should seek help as quickly as possible, if things get too out of hand you can always confide in one of your friends or friends parents if you're too worried about seeking professional help.
there are countless places you can go to for guidance but you need to be sure that you're willing to confront your problems eventually ( not at this moment ) if you want to overcome your problem, i really do hope that advice and all advice you've been receiving helps you and i hope that things work out for you.

Signs of Depression
Depression can occur without people knowing that they have it. Many people ignore the signs of depression. When a depressed mood persists for several weeks, deepens and eventually starts interfering with work and social life it becomes an illness, or clinical depression.

Some signs of Depression are:
Disturbed thinking
Feelings of sadness or irritability
Loss of interest or pleasure in activates once enjoyed
Changes in weight or appetite
Changes in sleeping patterns
Feelings of guilt, hopelessness or worthlessness
Inability to concentrate, remember things or make decisions
Fatigue or loss of energy - withdrawal
Restlessness or decreased activity noticed by others
Complaints or physical aches and pains for which no medical causes can be found
Thoughts of suicide or death
Feeling overwhelmed
Depression, if not treated, can last many months or years.

if you think you are depressed then tell someone about it like a professional they will help you..

I don't think you have dpression. Everyone in my family is either bipolar or has depression, I was lucky and diddnt get it.. yet... The reason you are probably upset is becuase of things that are going on in your life. My mom is a happy person, has a great life, and she still breaks down randomly, she has depression.

uhm yess those are some signs. but answer these questions as well
- do you find it hard to sleep?
- do you find youve lost your appetite?
- do you find it hard to concentrate?
- do you find it hard to make desicions?
if you answered yes. then yes you probably have depression and i strongly suggest you go see a doctor&&a counseller

it sounds like you could be starting depression. the reason why you may be crying randomly is because you are keeping your feelings in and not letting them out. something may be bothering you and you're trying to keep it in. try talking to your mom and see if you can help her feel better. also you should get some help from a counselor at school or talk to your friends.

If your in school you should definably go talk to a school counselor they can really help you since your not able to find support at home and if your not in school go seek professional help.....

yes that is depression and you should act soon before it gets worse

Sounds like it. You need to get help.

it'd be best to talk to a school counsler.
