Can Welbutrin be used to treat symtoms of ADHD in addition to depression? |
Can Welbutrin be used to treat symtoms of ADHD in addition to depression? There is some growing research that suggests that there is a link between serotonin and ADHD. Wellbutrin does increase available serotonin levels, so I guess it can be used to treat ADHD. This study found that there is a "clinically and statistically significant effect of bupropion in improving ADHD in adults." http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/cont... Source(s): http://info.med.yale.edu/chldstdy/plomde... http://www.neurologychannel.com/adhd/med... No but it sure made Chaney rich..... ok ok, just kidding, I'll leave now... Yes, it can. My daughter was on it for having A.D.D and depression, but she ended up having really bad hives from it. Yes, but it's about one-tenth the strength of Ritalin. It has a lot less side effects, and it's safer and non-addictive. Ask your doctor or your pharmacist to be certain. Knowledge is power. Don't be afraid to ask questions. No matter what. Your health is more important than a doctor's inconvenience in answering. Good luck! |
